1. Do I have to use Thread Locking on the hardware? These e-mails are often filtered by your e-mail service, so please check your filters or spam folder.
We strongly recommend some type of non-permanent thread locker be applied once you find your preferred configuration for accessories. The mounting hardware is not designed to be permanently tight due to the modular nature of the design. Adding Thread locker will help prevent lost hardware.
2. Do you accept USPS Money Orders?
Not Currently.

You will be notified if ship date on your order will be affected.
We reserve the right to substitute, at our discretion, any material, design, or component for any reason. Any material/design/component will be of equal or higher quality. We will do our best to contact you on the change by e-mail if the substitution is significant.
3b.Do Dogs Die in Hot Cars?
Yes, they do. Your holster will have the same reaction if you leave it where it gets too hot. Don't put your holster where the hit sun will kill it, like on the dashboard. If you do let us know. We may be able to fix it for you. It's not covered under warranty, but we're reasonable.
4. My Retention is Too Tight/Too Loose
Proper retention is a some what subjective thing: The same holster could be considered too tight, too loose, or just right depending on the user. We strive to dial retention to where the gun does not fall out when the holster is held upside down unless give a good shake.
Loosening retention: If you find the retention on your holster is too tight You may find lightly wiping the inside of the holster retention points with RemOil helps loosen it. (Most holsters use the trigger guard as the primary retention point. Light bearing holsters retain on the light itself due to the light channel.)
If applying RemOil is not enough, you can use a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the kydex where it is pinching and allow it to loosen slightly. It is most likely a very small adjustment that is needed. Be sure to not blast the heat directly on the material or it will gloss.
Tightening retention: is a similar process to loosening but adds putting a dimple in the softened material to create a stronger point of retention.
If you are not able to do the adjustment yourself you can send it in for adjustment. Customer attempts to adjust retention will not void product warranty.
5. I don't see my pistol on your list of available models... can you make a holster for it?
If your pistol is not on the list of available models it is for one of two reasons: either a mold is not available from any of our mold suppliers, or the demand for holsters for your pistol is so low we have not yet purchased a mold. (We do not make our own molds. )
Our business model is set up to respond to demand. We need to make several holsters with a new pistol mold to reach break-even, so we have have made the decision to not add new pistol models until we have confirmed there will be demand (by way of customer inquiry). Unfortunately, some pistols just don't generate enough demand and they stay off the list.
We are not currently adding additional pistol models.
If all else fails, we are also happy to refer you to other holster makers we collaborate with that may support your pistol.
6. Can you make a Molle/Pals vest compatible Holster for my pistol?
At Statureman Custom Holsters we focus primarily on concealment style belt mounted holsters and are not taking orders for Molle compatible holster or gear at this time. They require a different manufacturing process that we are not currently set up to support.
We do offer a solution for mounting your custom holster on a molle belt. see Super Simple Molle Straps in the OWB Belt Loops section.
6b.. Can you make a holster that...?
Refer back to #6. Technically we can make a holster that will anything... but you don't want to know how much we would charge you to make it. No one holster will do it all. We are currently not taking orders for items that cannot be purchased on the website. Paddles, drop-offsets, thigh-rigs etc all not on the menu.
7. How can I get something modified on my holster?
For modifications you can send in the holster for adjustment. If the work is covered under warranty (i.e. retention issue) we will pay return shipping. Custom modifications may have a small fee to cover shop time and shipping. please contact us if you have any questions.
8. My IWB snaps are too tight what do I do?
The snaps on these loops can be very tight to start out. A flat blade screw driver or similar tool will allow you to snap them open. Insert it between the snap heads on the outside of the loop at the top and twist to open. The snaps will loosen up with repeated use. http://www.youtube.com/statureman for more info.
9. What thickness of Kydex do you use?
Modular Statureman Custom Holsters are made out of .08 thickness Kydex. we have found .08 to be the best balance between strength and flexibility for a modular design. The holsters and modular in design and can be carried both IWB and OWB. Your holster can be made out of thicker or thinner material by request.
10. Do you offer repair and rework/modification services?
Yes, if you holster has seen hard use and needs a little TLC beyond what is covered under warranty you can send it in for repair, refinishing, tension adjustment, etc for a small fee that covers shop time and return shipment. We do not work on gear we did not make.
11. Do Kydex/Statureman Custom Holsters wear a gun finish?
All holsters will wear a gun finish eventually. If you desire to not have wear on your gun's finish it should stay in the gun safe :-) Statureman Custom Holsters are made to exacting standards to eliminate "pinch-points" or drag that contributes to wear.
Most wear is actually caused by dust/dirt in the holster. Clean regularly with soap/water and a lint-free cloth. Dry thoroughly and apply a light coat of rem-oil to the inside as desired.
Kydex can be cleaned much easier than leather, and will not hold dirt the same way leather will.
Unlike leather, Kydex will not be break down due to repeated washing/water and loose retention.
11b. Do you work with leather or other materials? No. That is outside our scope.
11c. Will you put a liner inside the hostler? No. Do you wear a mask when you kiss your significant other? On second thought, don't answer that. We don't want to know.
12. Do Belt Loops come with the Modular Statureman Custom Holster?
The modular holster comes with Standard outside waistband loops (in your choice of width) included. If you want to switch out between carry types all you need to is add a different belt loops type to your order. See belt loops page for the different options.
13. What is the Proper Way to Attach the Belt Loops?
The loops can be oriented in whatever configuration you prefer. Set together they will put the ride height evenly. Set opposite they will raise or lower the cant. You can refer to this picture or watch the How to Properly Attach Belt Loops video on the Video page of the website.
14. My gun or Mag Pouch is not on the available list... Can you still make a mag carrier for me?
Magazine carriers are made on actual mags and have much lower order volume than pistol holsters. Due to these lower volumes, we have made the business decision to limit the magazines we buy.
15. I forgot to add a required custom option/Add-to-Cart item to my cart, How will that affect my order?
If a custom fee is not purchased with the original order the order will be placed on hold until the custom fee is purchased. There is no need to re-place your order, all you need to do is add that item to cart and purchase. If you are adding an item that requires shipping we will refind the duplicate shipping. Wait time is based on the date that all required options are paid in full.
16. Do you make Rifle Mag Carriers?
Not Curently.
17. I have a 1911 with a rail, can you make a holster for it? What about with a light?
Railed 1911's are tough to make holsters for due to the variations in the rail sections between manufactures. The lights are mounted to the rail when the holster is molded and the light itself is what retains the pistol, so the rail and light need to be an exact match.
The only railed 1911s we have molds for are the Sig Scorpion, Springfield Operator, Springfield TRP, and Taurus PT1911 AR. Any 1911 with the exact same frame and rail position will be compatible for light-bearing.
Non-light Bearing railed 1911:
It is possible to modify the mold to adjust for the differences in the rail dimensions to make an acceptable holster for other railed 1911. This will only work for holster without a light. Some cosmetic difference will show through as a result of the modified mold. They will be 100& functional. To place an order for a railed 1911 not listed selected other in the model drop down and write your SPECIFIC model in the custom options text box.
18. You have a holster for the compact model, but not the full size. Or vice versa . Can you make a holster for the one I have?
There are LOTS of variations of pistols out there that are similar to others, but are not the same length. Many of these, such as the Sig P250 can be used to make a 100% functional holster by adding to the mold at the muzzle. Many compact models have exactly the same dimensions as the full size except for length of the barrel. Many of these smaller versions will fit/retain great in a full size holster.
If you have a particular pistol that is not available, but have similar models on the list please contact us to see if they are compatible. If they are you can simply place a custom order.
19. Do you make a carrier for my (random) knife or light?
No. We are currently taking orders for Website items only.
20. Do you make a holster for my pistol with LaserMax/Crimson Trace/Other Laser?
We do not support these manufactures as regular menu items.
21. Do you make a holsters that work with Viridian Laser/Light?
We currently do not support any Viridian products as regular menu items.
22. Do you offer LEO or Military Discounts?
Not currently.
23. Do you offer "Group Buy" or Wholesale Discounts?
Yes. Please contact me to discuss available options and learn how to submit a group or wholesale order.
24. Does a Glock "x" fit in a Glock "y" holster? How about an M&P 9 compact and Full size?
Sometimes. For theM&P full size, any holsters in the lineup , if you order the full size models the compact models will fit, that goes for both 9/40 and .45. Glock frames for the 19/17/34 and 34 for 9mm/40, are interchangeable. same for the 45 acp versions. The Glock 26/27 DOES NOT FIT CORRECTLY in a Glock 19/17/34 molded holster the frames are different enough to cause fit issues.
The same is true for any Glock with a light on it because the rail positions are the same in relation to the trigger guard, a Glock 19 holster with light will fit in a Glock 17 holster with the same light attached. If you have questions on light-bearing holsters being used without the lights see question 22.
25. Can I use a light bearing holster without the light?
No! The retention on a light-bearing holster is on the light itself and the pistol should not be used without the light attached.
26. Will my aftermarket sight fit in your holster?
We currently build in just over 1/4 inch clearance for sight channel into the holster standard. Most aftermarket sights, (XS big dot, Heinie, etc) will fit without issue. If you run extra high suppressor sights you will need to purchase the $5 suppressor sight add on.
27. How does your holster compare to "XYZ" holster company?
We don't answer this question because we are focused on making the best gear possible for our customers rather than our what our competition is doing. If you want to get a more direct comparison I invite you to search the web for the numerous positive reviews and comments our customers have made regarding our products over the past few years.
29. What kind of "kydex" do you use?
Kydex is actually a brand of thermoforming sheet stock. The term is often used generically. There are currently 3 major brands of thermoplastics used for holster making. Kydex™ , Boltaron™, and Holstex™ Additionally some of our suppliers have non-branded thermoform sheet. We may use any of the plastics at our discretion depending on color, pattern, availability, and the method we using to form your product. If you want to use a specific brand of material please contact us. Additional charges may apply.
